This little charmer is currently facing charges for putting anti-muslim stickers on halal food in a supermarket. *Please note sarcasm ahead* As the interview shows, her objections to Islam are based on her intimate knowledge of the creed and culture surrounding it.
The sad part is that if she stands, there are people that will vote for her... I doubt she'll get in, but she'll get votes.
One Nation is a thinly disguised white supremicist party that preys on the fear and ignorance of the constantly whinging, more ignorant boofheads in our country and does little more than preach from a pulpit of hate and blame everything on certain ethnicities without offering any real solutions. They seem to be equal opportunity bigots, though and take turns - a few years ago, it was Asian people that were the cause of all of our woes according to them. Now Muslims seem to be the current flavour. They can also boast of having had one candidate, Pauline Hanson (who actually got voted in!!!!) who, in a TV face off with Aboriginal leaders, told them to 'go home to your own country' (yes, she really did!!!) The Aboriginal leaders just looked stunned then amused and let her own words sink her.
She was best known, however, for her response during a TV interview, in which the reporter asked her if she was xenophobic, to which she responded 'Please explain?' as she didn't know what the word meant. It became a catchphrase over here for many years.
